WL-Farm and Köpingen’s Farm is run by Anders, Håkan, Mikael and Magnus who are some of the 25 000 farmers who own Lantmännen.
An idyllic place with grandkids and horses
Anders, Håkan and Mikael runs the organic WL-Farm just north of Mariestad on the plains of Västergötland. In total they have nine kids. And in addition to this, a big flock of grandkids who more than anything likes to play around at the farm. The workhorses are their favorites together with the old barns. Of course they also love to follow the oat from seed to ripe kernel (mainly because the newly ripened kernels tastes so good).
Swapping grass for animal fertilizer
In 2012 they changed from breeding piglets for 40 years to organic oat cultivation. Mostly because “it felt good to do”. Their neighbor breeds cows. The cows are allowed to graze on WL-Farm’s land. In exchange they receive cow dung that is used as a natural fertilizer for their oat production.
